Hi
Everytime I try to play on any family it crashes and says the application has crashed and that it is going to terminate.
Here is my log:
image removed. Need the Config Log.txt. Not an image. Please attach the text file.
It says that the driver is not found in database?
Was working fine a few days ago so not sure what happened.
Thanks.
Also did your guide but does not seem to work, when i downloaded the intel document it just opens up as one document on notepad and then from there I got confused.
Thankyou!

Hi, If you can help, I will be very happy
I have attached my log file. It seems OK, but my graphics card is "NOT IN DATABASE".
LUKE-PC-config-log.txt (Size: 10.16 KB / Downloads: 503)
My OS is Windows 7 Home Edition (I think) .
The main problem is that when I try to run the game it comes up with this error:

Also, I played it a few days ago without any problems, so I'm a bit unsure why it suddenly won't work a few days later. When I played it, the game itself worked perfectly.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I have the Ultimate Collection. Oops.

I did check my drivers, which are fully updated and are DirectX 9.0c compatible. I also followed your steps, which made no difference.

Update (from previous post):
It works now! - well sort of...
It seems to work on Windowed mode, but I'm not sure why. Is there anyway of getting it to work on full screen?
Thanks anyway.

Sooo, I got the Sims 2 ultimate edition on origin and it doesn't want to work. As soon as I get to the loading screen the game freezes and I need like 5 minutes to get out of it. Nothing seems to be working, I can't even get past the loading screen :/ what can I do and if there is still hope? I have 64 bit windows 7...

Hi!
I am desperate to play The Sims 2 again, but I can't manage it since I got my new laptop.
OS is Windows 8 and I can't get the game running.
I try to execute the game and I get a message with Direct3D error E_INVALIDARG! and then teh app closes.
I tried using Windows compatibilty problems fixer, but it did not work.
Thanks in advance

@T for 1
Sorry - I should have been clearer. What I need you to do is rename your EA Games folder in your my documents. Then start up the game. It will set up the whole hood thing.
In the meantime, if you have a look at this thread at EA - it will help you with the whole D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE thing.
@FaithBandits, @j3nnavieve I don't need a photo of your config log. I need the whole text file. If you can't work out how to do it from the 'Before you post requesting help' then please look at this post to see graphically what to do.

@KimberlyTanith - sorry about that. I'm getting confused because of the amount of requests for help and it's hard to keep up with whose problem is what. It's going to be busy for a few more days, but if it's ok with you, and seeing it works ok on your old desktop - can I get back to you say at the end of the week? And hopefully I should have more space to be able to work on your problem.
@CranberryRobot
For the directX problem - see this post at EA for help - DirectX Problem
@milamori - the change appears to have worked. It's set at High-resolution.
Since your game is crashing - you need to go to EA and ask them. Unfortunately your problem is not one I can fix.
The only thing I can suggest is that your installation was incomplete.
See the Wiki for help
@Vel!x I need the -config-log.txt to help you. Just saying it doesn't work, doesn't help.
@love_the_simss - this is a directX problem. Go to EA Help - this thread for instructions on how to fix.
@Becker - your problem is not a graphics card problem, and to be honest I have no idea how to fix it. However, it wouldn't surprise me if it was a similiar problem with the DirectX. If you Go to EA Help - this thread for instructions on how to fix the DirectX - it *may* help.
