How Do I Reshade in Sims 2

So I've been fiddling around with Reshade for Sims 2 for a few days now and I can't seem to get it to work. If it doesn't that's fine but it seems to work for some people. I've installed Reshade properly, removed Securom, installed a no cd crack that Leefish posted here, popped it in the folder, and booted up the game but the menu doesn't come up for me. Anyone here had luck with Reshade?

Same here, but I am questioning whether I installed it correctly. I thought I followed the instructions, but no menu for me either.

what is reshade?

Update:
Reshade randomly started working for me and has worked for the past several days when I boot up the game. Not sure what's different, maybe the ridiculous amount of CC I recently added.
