So... I'm another person here with issues running Sims 2
I recently had to uninstall my game due to corruption (saved while a sim was on the phone), and had to reinstall. Had managed to find a fix to running Sims 2 on my laptop before, but cannot find anything now that works. I installed the Directx 9.0c files, do I have to put them into my game? Would appreciate help, sims 4 hasn't filled the void

DX9 won't work on a Win10 system. And DX12 is incapable of performing the DX9 functions. You need DX11, and even that is no guarantee that it will actually work.
