Css fonts!

Ok, well, first thing is go find a .css post icon......

brb

Ok, got one.

Well, IF you are viewing the site in IE - you will wonder what the hell I am going on about.......

If in Firefox - whoa!! Look at that funky custom font appearing in the header and the user control panel (grunge theme AKA default). You don't see that very often....no fonts are downloaded - you are viewing a font from my web server. ( This is very cool - look awed damn you!!)

So how did I do it?

I added the code below to the .css stylesheet

Code:
@font-face {
   font-family: 'MyCustomFont';
   src: url(images/grunge/font/MyCustomFont.tff) format('truetype');
}

Then, I put the .ttf file on the server. After that, I added the reference to the navigation panel class

Code:
.upper_panel a, .upper_panel a:visited {
    font-family: 'MyCustomFont';
        font-size: 15px;
        color: #fff;
    padding-left: 20px;
    margin-right: 15px;
    font-weight: bold;
}

ta-dah....custom font. Not in IE though. I hates IE I does......(mutter, mumble)

Aha. I have discovered how to make this work on IE as well. Microsoft and their weirdness. The rest of the browsers all use .tff. Not IE, oh no, they use something ELSE.

Gonna have a go at .eot fonts and see if I can get the custom font showing on Leefish in IE as well, that would be awesome.

Also, I pretty much hate the buttons - I need new buttons.

Oh yeah!! I have it working in IE as well - woot!

Here is the code

Code:
@font-face { /* for IE */
       font-family: 'MyCustomFont';
       src: url(images/grunge/font/sector_017.eot) /* EOT file for IE */
}

@font-face {
       font-family: 'MyCustomFont';
       src: url(images/grunge/font/MyCustomFont.tff)  /* TTF file for CSS3 browsers */
}

You have to load the IE first.......

Chrome next - I need an .svg converter now

I'm feeling like being a super helpful fish today - here are some links to sites where you can convert the fonts:

http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fontface/generator

http://www.kirsle.net/wizards/ttf2eot.cgi

Or just Google eot converter or eot creator
