Keyboard - Solved

Didn't know the best place to put this.. hope someone knows the answer.
You know how the sticky keys thing will pop up? Well, it did (tend to hold keys down) and I pressed cancel. The keyboard stopped working. I uninstalled it and the driver, rebooted.. didn't fix it. I can type in my password to load Windows, then it stops working.
Thankfully, I can use an onscreen keyboard . But I can't keep using it for everything. I've been looking for a solution with no luck. With XP, I could get it working again if it stopped.
I don't have a different keyboard to try.

Maybe a silly question MLC but do you have a cordless keyboard? Only asking because it happened to me, I put in fresh batteries and it worked again. Also try pressing both SHIFT keys at the same time.
If that doesn't work, this might help http://www.ofzenandcomputing.com/zanswers/2527/.

No, keyboard is wired. And the advice at that link didn't help. The only thing I haven't tried is safe mode- which is one of the things the support site (HP) lists. Really hope it's not broke- this computer is only a few months old!

goto your control panel,
click on keyboard,
goto the hardware tab and click properties,
What does Device Status say?
If it says it is working ok, then goto the driver tab,
uninstall the driver,
restart the computer.
If it says anything else, let me know.

Believe it or not, it says the device is working properly. I've uninstalled the driver, that was the first thing I tried . Also done everything up to this step: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum...arch#N1140 and can't do that because the Recovery Manager doesn't list the keyboard driver. The HP website seems to be hiding some of the drivers for my computer- I can't find it anywhere.
Running diagnostics told me something on the order of hardware update might not have been detected. Since it works until Windows loads, the keyboard must not be broke. Really wish I didn't let my other keyboard go when the other computer got taken back so I could try it!

Not that I know of. I'm getting a bit.... I'm ready to throw it out the window!
Edit: Is fixed.
It didn't have to do with sticky keys, although that is the screen I pressed cancel on. It had to do with filter keys- which I had already turned off. Somehow it got turned back on.
