Has anyone tried the pre-release version of windows 8?

I am installing it now as a dual boot OS.

I was looking at Windows 8 - but I think it will have to be a dual boot. I heard it did not like Sims2.

Won't know that untill I get the full version, but the dual boot works well.

I really want to (it looks so nice!) but doesn't installing a new OS erase majority of the programs on your hard drive? That's what's holding me back :/

That depends on if you upgrade, or do a clean install. However, if you have an empty partition, or second hard drive, you can install it to that, and it will work fine as a second OS.

Some news. my Sim Tracker program will work on windows 8, as do all of my win 7 gadgets from my website.

I will be testing sims 2 shortly. My folks had my install disk.

Well, Sims 2 will not, at present, install on Windows 8. I do not have a full copy yet, so that might be the problem.

I'm not really sure. so far none of the software I have on CD or DVD will install. I can only guess that the preview version of windows 8 is not setup to function fully.

I'll be getting a full version in a few months (when it comes out) and will have a better idea then.
