Hi,
I just got a new computer (windows 10) and ran into the pretty common problem of the computer not finding DirectX 9.0c when trying to start my sims 2. At the moment I have basegame, university and nightlife installed from dvd.
From the info in this thread http://www.leefish.nl/mybb/showthread.php?tid=6883 I guess I need to fix the video card since I have the "NOT FOUND IN DATABASE" in my log-file, however I can't manage to get through Step 2 of this tutorial: http://www.leefish.nl/mybb/showthread.php?tid=6882.
Would be very greatful for some help in making a video card or if anyone have another solution.

Thanks!

It should work if you were to add a line to the Nvidia section of Video Cards.sgr, that looks like:

card 0x1c8c "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti"

Thanks for the help, it did fix the "not found in database" error.
Still get the error-message regarding DirectX when I try to start though, so there seem to be more issues that needs fixing.

Yeah, my help was only good for making the card recognizable. Glad that it worked.
I'm not much help with the DirectX thing, alas. I hope someone else can help you with that.
