@tara
What machine is this? I play Sims 2 very good on my HD4600 graphics.
How much RAM
What CPU.
Is this a Lenovo?
What O/S?

You should run Sims with your HD4600 graphics, and not your nVidia graphics.

Are you using AVAST! AntiVirus? You should be. It plays very good with Sims 2.

You have a 4thGen computer if it has HD4600 graphics. and you should be running Windows 7, or Windows 8.1. NOT Windows 10.

Windows 10 doesn't play as good with 4thGen computers.

Don't count on it, tara. Every time Win10 gets updated, more and more people find TS2 no longer working properly. And at the same time, it keeps getting harder to counter those effects.
Virtually all of the threads created in this section in the last three months, have NEVER been solved. That should tell you something.

It's sad, I know, but that's progress for you. It was bound to happen eventually; the game is 15 years old. I'm glad I'm still on Win7, not Win10.
