I am lost. I have Win 10 on a brand new laptop and I'm beginning to think this is never going to work. I have changes the video card rules to include my device and tried to change the texture fix for the graphic rules but it ends up not showing my device info on the CONFIG -LOG.TXT when i replaced it with the recommended Video card file, so i tried writing my own on the original file.

I put the original files back and tried again and still Direct 9.0x.

Any other advice before I give up all together?

This is the log without the texture fix, only the video card added.

It's not going to work. TS2=Too old
Win10/New video=Too new.

It was bound to happen.

You need to get yourself an older computer that runs Win7, or Win8.1Pro.

I got out my old Lenovo with XP and keep getting an error that says

"The procedure entry point GetLogicalProcessorInformation could not located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll"

Oh, Okay, Is it a T61? Look on the display bezel. Bottom RH side. T7500 is the CPU designation.
Does it have dedicated graphics? You have to look in Device Manager, under "Display Adapters"... What does it say?

This is a good thing! The T61 is a good computer, and with 128mb of GDDR3 video ram (512gb shared), The Sims 2 should run ok, but you need to upgrade the O/S to Win7, A SSD should be an upgrade you need to consider also. There are thousands, and thousands of people who LOVE this machine, and will pay premium price, for a good example. They buy them, they restore, and upgrade them for more modern usability. The T61, is one of the best ThinkPads ever produced!

Here's a good page on your T61 specs:

http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:T61

Here are all your Win7 drivers from Lenovo's EOL page:

https://download.lenovo.com/eol/

Type: "Laptops and tablets"
Series: "ThinkPad T series"
Subseries: "T61"

Then....

Category: "all"
Operating System: "Windows 7"

I would try Win7 Home Premium x64 first. You'll also need to make a bootable, USB stick.

Also, your laptop uses DDR2-5300 ram, SOME used DDR3, so try with your existing ram FIRST. You may be running TS2 just fine, with 4gb/RAM.

You can pull a ram stick from the computer, and look at it to know for sure. Do this, and I can advise you further.
