Trying to get BodyShop to work on the dreaded Win10

Hello everyone! I used tutorials on this forum to get Sims 2 working on my Win10 computer; sadly, BodyShop refuses to work. It starts to load, then says "The application has crashed. The application will now terminate."
I tried applying the 4GB patch to the executive, that only made the pause between the start of loading and the crash message a bit longer. Which makes me think it might be memory-related? But how to solve it I don't know.

I have no downloads, deleted all the caches, etc. Is there any hope for me?
