This is a Leefish and Kiri joint-upload.

Did you know that the LaFenetre set is incomplete? Neither did we! Until Kiri wanted to build an Orphanage. She needed a 2-tile door on 3 tiles because it looked wonky.

So Lee, decided to be Kiri's fairy godmother and make one for her. With added privacy so it could work for a Georgian building without having to install lots of CC.

Then after seeing how good it looked - but that the matching windows weren't forbidding enough, she made Kiri a window to go with it.



It's only fair that we share, and Kiri has done recolours for both, which are also recolours for all the LaFenetre/Colonial set done by EA, and add-ons which use them as repository.

The door picks up recolours from the base game: Walnut Door, and base game: Colonial Double Door.

The Window picks up recolours from the base game: LaFenetre Window with Shutters.

Included are 13 recolours:
white, asparagus, green, red, blue, gold, black 1, black 2, AL Light, AL Medium, AL Dark, and Cherry. Just for Lee, Black 2 comes with the Brass fittings for pleasant places, and Cast Iron Fittings for not-so-pleasant places.

NOTE: The TXMTS have been amended so that the colours match across ALL the recoloured build-set.

As usual I am completely incapable of creating a maximum of 3 zips to download (There are 4)

Feel free to make new signs as recolours. Go nuts! It's a flat rectangular alpha-mesh so your sign can be anything! You can change the glow colour by changing the stdMatDiffCoef and stdMatEmissiveCoef values in the Material Definitions (TXMT) of your recolour. (They're RBG values - Red, Green, Blue.) Just please don't go making non-red recolours of the Fangtasia sign itself, lest Fangtasia's owners seek you out to get revenge for messing with their logo.

One recolours the basegame "Independent Expressions" window, one recolours the basegame "Independent Expressions" double-door (plus Lee and HugeLunatic's addon windows), and one recolours the "Gone Legit" single door - which matches but has a different name for some reason. I think that single door came with Nightlife, so if you don't have the single door just delete that recolour.

What is "faux" about the Windows/Doors? Well they're blacked-out (non-transparent) in order to work with the smooth-edged sign and look appropriate in a vampire club. But they still let light through, so aren't really blacked-out. Oh so faux.

Things we have done so far:

Wandered around the streets in our area looking for any lost cat posters
Checked on the missing pets database.

We will contact the pet asylum on Monday and see if the cat is chipped - she has no collar.

I’m always kind of annoyed when my sims walk all over the place while I’ve given them a pretty path to enter their house. I’ve used an invisible fence to ‘guide’ them, but I also like to use all kinds of smooth edges, which is a pain when there’s a fence taking up space already.

So I was thinking, what if I make an non-intersectable tile for sims? One that is allowed to be placed on locked tiles? I can put those tiles next to the path, and I can still put a plant or bushes op top of it. That way, I can still use the edges as well, and sims don’t walk all over the place but simply stay on the path.

It sounds fine in theory, but.. is it? Any ideas or comments? Maybe there's a better idea already out there?]]>

The front door is wrong. While the style is exactly what I want, the placement makes the building look crooked.

Anyone know where I can get a door sympathetic to the style which is 2 tiles on 3? I've been looking and I can't see it. (Probably it's sitting right in front of me!)

It looks like doors can't be done with snap grid or quarter-tile.

I usally go by the name DutchXfan, but I’m known as Becca as well. Like my name indicates, I’m Dutch and live in the Netherlands. I’ve been playing sims from the moment Sims 1 came out, so it’s been a veeeeery long time. I’ve tried Sims 3, but it’s not my cup of tea, so it's still Sims 2 for me.

I’ve been creating and tweaking other people’s CC or the game files for a long time as well, but most things are just small changes to fit my personal preferences for gameplay and I didn’t ask permission to share. It’s all trial and error and reading lots and lots of tutorials.

By now, I can do simple recolors but I’m bad with creating new textures, I can make new objects with interactions, I can frankenstein bodyparts together (I’m very picky - no holes, smooth normals, right shoe sounds, all the morphs, etc.), and I can do a tiny bit of hacking here and there. (LeeFish was the one who helped making my first mod actually – thank you!)

I’m hesitant to ‘join’ websites, because I tend to disappear a lot, and I’m usually not very chatty (despite this long post *lol*), but you guys seem really nice and make high quality stuff. I like browsing for things here because the website is clean and nice on the eyes, and even though I press the ‘thanks’ button, I still wanted to say ‘hi’ and give you a heartfelt ‘thank you’ in an actual post.
