Short back-story, this family I have now, the husband and wife were high school sweethearts I had in Desiderata Valley (the dream date bouquet was given to the husband when he had a dream date with the wife). They had twins, and as I always do immediately aged them up to teen. I play the grandparents as well sometimes too. The grandmother got to level 10 of my superstar career, and the grandfather got to level 10 of my personal trainer career. Both of them are retired now. I even had the grandchildren send them some retirement cards with Mog's greeting card system. Anyway, just thought I'd share a pic with you all of my sims eating my custom apple pie. I really like the way that particular upload turned out.

I'm using this tutorial to try and do the bedding replacements:

Default Replacements from scratch

The problem I'm having is that once I've done Step 6, I have multiple TXTR's from multiple SGFILE and none of them are the largest size, neither are the LIF0.

So for example - I've been trying to replace the Teen Style Stuff - Goth bedding.

When I do the search on "bedbeddingsp6-goth"

I get 3 files - Ikea, Kitchen and Bath, and teen - Carryforward.SGFILES.Package.

There are 3 TXTRs, and 6 LIF0's for each of them.

When I double-click one of the TXTR's - it brings up the bedding but at 128x256 instead of the largest one (512x1024). I can find the LIF0's near them that has the large size.

But at this point, it's we're veering away from the tutorial.

So. Can I use the LIF0 as the default? (I'm assuming that what's really important is the Group and the Instances), do I do the TXTR but as a 512x1024?

I'm at a bit of a loss as how to proceed. And it seems that all the replacement tutorials I've found so far all concentrate on bodyshop replacements.

We start off with an empty lot and we buld rooms and decorate until finished. Pics of the rooms at each stage.
I could make a floor plan grid for each room and then we can add to it piece by piece.
Is it an idea? It might be fun....

This set is repository- the COUNTER is the MASTER for all the other meshes. Additionally, counter & island shadows are strange creatures and don't always behave as we humans would like them to. So- the counter wall shadows are slaved to the UPPER CABINET wall shadows. The CORNER ISLAND ground shadow is slaved to the CORNER ISLAND SHELF ground shadow. So if you don't have those 2 meshes, you'll get blinky shadows. Sorry about that, I really did try to get around slaving the shadows. After a week (ok, almost a week?) of wrangling them around and getting nowhere fast, I gave in and slaved those shadows.

There are 5 shelves- all have slots. The 3 lower shelves have 3 slots per shelf, the 2 upper shelves only 1 per shelf.

There are 2 trim pieces- some of the trim warped countertops. After more wrangling that part around, I gave in and made separate trim pieces. You'll need to use the trim pieces to fill in the spots that don't have trim- one is just for a counter with a sink (putting a sink in made the trim go bye-bye), the other is for the back of islands and counters (if you place counters away from the wall).

Right so a little pre-amble first;
I have one Sim who is a General (Military Career) and another Sim who is The Mayor (Politics Career) and they both make such sad amounts of money I swear I want to make them change careers just so they can have more money. However I do like the fact that I have a Mayor of my little town it adds to that whole roleplaying/storytelling angle I got going for me. My other alternative is something I've been considering for a while now and that is to alter the basegame careers to a more acceptable salary.

So that leads me to my question: Where in the Sims 2 packages do Careers even exist?

First off, hey Lee! <3

Secondly, the actual question. I'm aware upon opening a Sims3Pack file, that it contains some rather handy XML information. I was wondering if there is a nice clean way to read this from PHP. And if so, if there is a way to get the images out of it too, as they are all listed in the XML portion.

I found this thread from a quick search, http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=446666 . It has an overview of what to do, but I am not sure exactly how that works.

If I could simply make an exact duplicate of a file with the GUID changed, and perhaps the name of the texture, things would go so much quicker. Also, is there an .ini/config file to edit somewhere for the DDS builder to tell it I want "None" do be the default setting for "Sharpen:" not "Smoothen?"
